Short Essay Question

How might convergence affect the production, distribution, marketing and exhibition:

Production might also be affected by converegence as it has led to a hybridized mode of production for many producers and a decline in the primacy of celluloid, it has also decreased the production income with the expensive and advance computer (hardware and software). It also has been afftected by the audience (consumer) now knowing how to produce and distribute advanced film themselves.

Distribution might also be affected by the rise in the use of internet, as the nature of the internet and what it can produce to a wide range of audience could help not just for big studio companies but also to the smaller film makers such as students.

Marketing might also be affected as it can help increase ways films can be marketed, with the use of interent and new mobile technologies on the rise, more marketing can be used by the internet with new sites, pop ups. This has meant a greater degree of cross media promotion, where as by a film, the accompanying soundtrack and merchandising is also promoted, often though the companies new sites, magazines, television stations and internet sites.

Exhibition might also be affected as less people will do to a exhibition of a film as they can scearch information and images on the internet.
